Yew (Taxus)

English Yew (Taxus Baccata) are the most traditional of hedging plants. Yew like any well drained soil are are also happy by the sea and in shallow chalk. They will grow up to 40cm a year depending on conditions.

Yew will make a very pleasing and tidy hedge when cared for instantly adding value to a new built. They also make lovely specimen plants and are very popular for topiary projects as they will fill out however you trim them. These plants are grown in the ground on our nursery. Plants will be dug by hand and a hessian tied round the root-ball to protect the root system. The foliage is also tied.
